Chapter 20: Stand in The Rain

"Wake up Tako!" Takado grunted as the giggling feline landed on top of him, waking him from his slumber.

"Gimme another hour Kitty," Takado groaned, burying his face into the pillow as he tried to ignore the squirming cat that lay on his back.

"No! You have to get up now! I need your help," Kitty whined. She nuzzled her face against his shoulder blade before pretending to bite his shoulder, pulling a laugh from him.

"Why don't you go wake up Carissa instead? What could you possibly need help with at seven in the morning?" Takado smirked at Kitty's furrowed eyebrows, getting frustrated as she always did when she didn't get her way.

"Because Spikes doesn't conveniently sleep in my room," Kitty retorted, sticking her tongue out at him.

"Maybe I should move back into my own room then," Takado joked, rolling over in bed and laughing as he nearly caused Kitty to fall off the bed.

"You wouldn't and you know it. You'd miss me too much," Kitty responded, her small mischievous grin making it's way onto her lips.

"I guess you might be right about that," Takado breathed quietly, noting the redness of her eyes. She was still sleepy. He pulled her in closer to himself, gently pressing his lips against hers.
"Why'd you wake up so early anyways?"

"I... I wanted to make french toast for Spikes. You know, nice surprise to wake up to kind of thing? But after the third failed attempt I assumed it was time to come ask you for help," Kitty's cheeks flushed deep crimson as she explained things to Takado.

She sighed heavily resting her head against his chest as he began to laugh.

Takado continued to laugh as he lifted Kitty off of himself, so he could step out of bed and she continued to awkwardly avoid his gaze.

"You tried three times? You'd think you would have either been successful or burned the house down at that point," Takado continued to laugh.

"I may have burned the kitchen down! You don't know, you haven't seen it yet!" Kitty said defensively, giving her best effort to glare at him.
"I'm sorry though. I really wanted to let you sleep so I could do something nice for both you and Spikes."

"It's fine Kitty-Kat. You know I don't mind helping you," Takado responded sweetly, finally climbing out of bed.
"Why the sudden act of kindness anyways Kitty?"

"I'm just hoping maybe if I do nice stuff for Spikes she won't pull her usual vanishing act," Kitty explained as Takado walked around the bed to pull a shirt out of the dresser.
"She usually makes herself scarce when she's upset, and considering she's dealing with a pretty huge break up I want to be a little extra nice."

"That's pretty thoughtful of you."

"Well I don't want you to have to say bye bye to your baby sister."

"Looks like you'll be saying bye bye to your baby sister."

Takado dropped to the ground and backed himself against the wall, away from where Kitty stood. Takado was breathing heavily trying to shake the images that suddenly filled his mind, but there was no stopping it.

He wasn't in Kitty's room anymore. He was alone, it was dark, and he couldn't find his sister not before-

"Takado?" Her concerned voice just barely penetrating the wall his mind had created between his memories and reality.

"Takado what's wrong?" Kitty asked as she rushed towards him, kneeling in front of him.
"Takado what's happening?"

"Get away from me!" Takado growled at her, barely even recognizing the voice that tried to reach out to him.

"Takado let me help!" Kitty pleaded desperately. She reached her hand out to touch his shoulder, only to have him slap it away.

"I don't need help! Especially not the help of a filthy cat!" Takado snarled, startling Kitty. Kitty stared at him in utter bewilderment.

"Carissa- Damnit where-"

"She's in her room. Takado... Carissa your baby sister is perfectly safe in her room. You're safe too okay? Just calm down and try to take in your surroundings," Kitty whispered softly, reaching out towards him once again.

"Get the hell away from me! I need to find her! I need to find her and I need to kill-"

"Damnit Takado stop it!" Kitty shouted at him, catching his attention, finally getting him to actually focus slightly on his surroundings.
"Carissa and you are both safe. You're both at home with me and there doesn't need to be any killing, ok?"

Takado was about to push her away throw her out of his way and run as the images of his past raced back into his mind. He needed to get away from them.

It was the gentle touch of her hand and the sapphire eyes that were his first memory in rebirth that finally pulled him away from them. He focused on her as he tried to calm himself down, tried slowing his heart rate.

For a few moments they sat there silently as Takado calmed himself. Kitty let out a surprised squeak at the suddenness at which she found Takado's arms around her, and pulling her into his lap.

Takado buried his face in her long ebony hair, inhaling the light scent of her lavender-vanilla perfume. Kitty wrapped her arms around him, resting her head against his broad shoulders, leaving him to calm himself for a moment.

"Are you okay now Takado?" Kitty asked gently after a few more minutes had passed. Takado nodded slightly, pulling her in closer as his grip on her tightened.

"I'm sorry..." Takado whispered, pressing his lips to her neck.
"I'm sorry Kitty-kat."

"Takado it's fine. You were freaking out, you had a panic attack. It's ok. I can't be mad at you for-"

"You should be though!" Takado growled, pulling her seemingly impossibly closer to himself.
"It is never fine for me to lash out at you like that. Don't ever think that it is."

Kitty stared at Takado, worry filled her eyes as she reached out her hand against his cheek. The small gesture had an almost sobering effect on Takado as he pulled away looking into her sapphire eyes.
Her heart raced as she looked up into his jade eyes, she opened her mouth to speak but Takado closed the distance between his lips and hers faster than she was able to. Kitty's back arched as Takado loosened his grip on her, his hand finding their way to her hips as he pulled her in closer.

Kitty purred softly as Takado ran his fingers along her spine.
Takado held back a low growl as Kitty twined her arms around his neck, kissing him full force as she pressed the length of her body against his.
Kitty pulled away for a brief moment, needing to take a moment to breathe, her heart nearly leaping out of her chest as she stared at him. He was breathing heavily, his muscles full of tension, and eyes darkened by lust for her.

"Takado! Kitty! Time to wake up you two! I need to run some errands for The Den so I need one of you to take Damon on his morning walk."

Takado groaned at the sound of his sister's voice, reluctantly releasing Kitty so she could step away from him.

"Sure thing Carissa. What time are you going to be home?" Takado tried, to the best of his ability, to respond normally. Kitty did her best not to laugh as she stood up and straightened out her hair, Takado trailing after her.

"In two hours maybe three, shouldn't take long. Why? Were you two planning on going out?"

"No I was just wondering. Go, have fun be safe, I'll go walk Damon in a few minutes." Takado sighed, as he walked up behind Kitty, wrapping his arms around her.

"Well there goes my original plan," Kitty whined slightly as Takado pressed a kiss to her hair.

"There's always next time Kitty-Kat."
...

"I still don't see why you invited him," Takado grumbled under his breath as he walked with Kitty up the stairs of the pool hall
.
"I thought maybe if I invited him on more group outings then maybe I'd be able to get away with less one-on-one outings." Kitty tried to explain to her very irritable boyfriend about why her ex-boyfriend was joining their group of friends for the evening.

"I've got first game! Who wants to play me?" Spikes called out as the approached the table.

"I will!" David offered enthusiastically, still trying to make good impressions on Kitty's friends despite her new boyfriend.

"I just hate the way he stares at you. You're mine now and he needs to stop it with this whole obsession crap," Takado continued to complain, pulling her in closer to himself.
Kitty rolled her eyes at him before reaching up on her tip toes to kiss his cheek. Sabbith gushed over Takado smiling warmly at kitty before pulling her into a hug and kissing her forehead.

"You two are so cute!!" Sabbith squeaked as she went to sit on the couch by the pool table.

"Isn't she though?" Takado laughed at the deep crimson flush of Kitty's cheeks as he sat down, pulling her onto his lap instead of letting her sit beside him.

Takado smirked at the glare he caught David sending him out of the corner of his eye.

"I just know you two are gonna make the cutest babies one day!" Sabbith squeaked, and this time it was Takado's turn to have his cheeks flush bright red along with Kitty, while David nearly spat out his drink.

"Yeah, Kitty and I talked about it and kids are not a foreseeable part of our future," Takado responded quickly trying to recover his posture.

"Accidents could happen though," Gabriel chimed in, sending Sabbith into a fit of giggles as the couple continued to blush.

It startled everyone slightly when Spikes very suddenly nearly fell over in a fit of laughter, ruining her shot in the game.

"That's something you need to think about though, Brother! When you and Kitty finally start getting busy an accident could happen and you might end up the father of a cat!"
Spikes nearly howled with laughter, as David's contorted with disgust.

"I would sooner shoot myself in the head. There's only room for one cat in my life." Takado retorted placing a kiss to Kitty's cheek, becoming concerned when Kitty flinched slightly at his touch.
Kitty went from blushing as her friends joked about her potential future with Takado, to silently keeping her head down as his words replayed themselves in her mind.
Sadness gnawed at her insides.

For a few minutes she sat on his lap as her friends laughed and joked around her, wishing she could laugh with them but all she could seem to think about were Takado's harsh words.

"I... I'll be right back," She was barely able to whisper as she stood from Takado's lap.

"Kitty are you o-" David immediately moved to follow her, to ask what was bothering her but stopped when Takado easily ran to her side, lifting her into his arms and kissing her roughly.
He tried not to smirk, well aware David was watching as he set her down, pressing a kiss to the top of her head.

"Hurry back to me," Takado said softly in her ear, but still loud enough that he knew David could here him. David fidgeted from the other end of the pool table as he watched Takado kiss Kitty, run his hands through her, but he didn't move. He balled his fists at his sides in an effort to control his temper as he watched him.

It wasn't until Takado nipped at Kitty's ear and then turned to wink at him, when David finally lost it.

"What the fuck is the matter with you?!" David shouted as he made his way around the pool table.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Takado responded innocently, but his smirk was evident.
"I was just kissing my girlfriend."

"You know damn well that the only reason you're doing it right now is because you're trying to piss me off!" David continued shouting. Takado's smirk turned into a cruel grin as he took a step closer to David.

"And even if I was, what are you going to do about it little guy? In case you haven't noticed she's mine, she chose me." Takado mocked him.

"You're right. There's nothing I can do," David said quietly, startling Kitty enough to pull her from her trance to look up at David to find him staring directly at her.
"I'd just remind her that she made the wrong choice."

David's comment made Kitty flinch slightly.

This time it was Takado that was furious. Takado balled his fists, ready to strike David when he felt her hand gently stroke him arm and grab the hemline of his shirt.

"Don't Takado," She said softly, shaking her head as he glanced down at her
"He isn't worth it."

Some of the tension in Takado's shoulders left, he nodded slightly at her before bending over to kiss her forehead.

"You're right Kitty-Kat. There's nothing here worth fighting over. I already won," Takado replied simply glancing back at David.

"Whatever Asshole. Have fun with my sloppy seconds," David spat at the two of them.

Takado's body became tense and trembling with the effort it took to keep himself steady, the light touch of her hand on his arm was the only thing holding him back from attacking David.

"You know what. On second thought, kill him." Kitty hissed darkly, dropping her hand from his arm.

Takado lunged at David, grabbing him by the arm as he attempted to walk away and pulling him back with enough force to dislocate the arm.

"Takado stop!" Spikes shouted as she ran around the table to where her brother was beating David.
"Kitty you have to make him stop!!"

Spikes's shouts could barely be heard over David's screams as Takado broke one of his legs. Spikes ran to her brother's side, trying desperately to pull him off of the screaming human.
Takado was stronger than her though, he always had been, and she'd hardly gotten him to budge.

"Kitty you have to make him stop! He's going to kill David!" Spikes pleaded with her best friend, surprised by the lack of empathy, the lack of emotion on Kitty's face as she watched Takado pummel her ex-boyfriend.

"Kitty if David dies who is going to come to town to look into it?" Spikes said quietly, but it was as if someone had splashed cold water on Kitty.

"Takado stop!" Kitty shouted, running to place herself in between the two boys.
"Takado you've done enough, please stop!"

He paused, unable to hit David again without hurting Kitty. It took a second more before her words finally were able to get through to him, until he was able to calm himself enough to regain control of himself.
Kitty grabbed his arm as she stood up, grateful that he stood with her as she tugged on his arm.

"Gabriel can you get David to the hospital? I need to get Takado home," Kitty asked, stroking Takado's arm to help further calm him down.

She smiled gratefully when Gabriel nodded, lifting up David's unconscious body to take him downstairs.

"Ok let's go home now."
...

"Ok so I just got off the phone with Gabriel and despite the dislocated arm, broken humerus, broken femur, three broken ribs and four cracked ones, as well as a crack in his skull.
David is going to make it though and be just fine after quite some time in the hospital and physical therapy." Spikes announced as she walked back into Kitty's room.

Kitty refused to meet Spikes's eyes keeping her head down the entire time she spoke.

"I hope you two are proud of yourselves," Spikes commented sarcastically.

"You're damn right I'm proud of myself," Takado tried not to growl at his sister as he spoke.
"That bastard had this coming for a while now. Hopefully he learned his damn lesson."

"Goddamnit Takado you could have killed him! Is that really what you want to become again?"

Takado flinched slightly at his sister's words. Briefly his eyes found Kitty's before he looked down towards the ground.
"No."

"And you!" Spikes snarled turning on Kitty this time.
"You know how he is! You know how protective he gets and yet you decide to not only give him permission to beat someone down, you straight gave him a death slip!"

"He isn't dead though," Kitty muttered quietly, giving her best effort to avoid crying. She knew it was wrong, of course it was, but she'd been so angry that she hadn't cared. It didn't matter how wrong it was because for once David needed to hurt too.

Yet his words kept crawling back to her as she glanced up at Takado laying down on her bed, looking away from his sister.

Had she made the wrong choice?

"You both acted like complete fucking morons." Spikes growled one last time before storming out of Kitty's room.

Moments passed and neither Kitty nor Takado moved or said anything. They were frozen in their own thoughts of what had happened that evening.

"Kitty-Kat?" His voice was quiet and gentle, and despite herself she found herself smiling even if only slightly.

Kitty climbed onto the bed and lay down next to him.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have flown off the handle like that. I know I'd been antagonizing him, but I just need this obsession with you to end.
If he really cared for you at all he'd have some respect for your current relationship and he doesn't."

Kitty smiled as Takado began to rant about his frustrations with David, with himself. He was trying so hard to be a better person, trying to change from who he had been.

"Thank you," She interrupted his rant. He turned to look at her, brows furrowed slightly in confusion.

"Why are you thanking me?"

"For beating the crap out of my ex when he was being an asshole. Maybe it shouldn't have gone as far as you did, but I'm really happy that you're willing to stand up for me," Kitty explained. She curled around him, resting her head on his shoulder..

"Anything for you Kitty," Takado said gently, reaching his hand out to run it through her long ebony hair. His heart raced as he admired her sapphire eyes, the small smile at the edge of those delicate perfectly shaped lips.

"Hey so now that I've got you all to myself, do you want to fill me in on what had you so upset at the pool hall?" Takado asked, Kitty's eyes widened with surprise.

"I- I thought you didn't notice," She breathed quietly before she could stop herself, even more surprised when Takado laughed instead of getting upset by her comment.

"Of course I noticed. I just know you. I know you don't really like talking about being upset when we're with friends. I'm not a complete moron," Kitty laughed as he leaned over, kissing her nose.

"Takado..." She sighed happily, lifting herself up to kiss him.
"It's nothing really just your joke earlier upset me a bit."

"Which joke?" Takado asked, his face instantly contorting with guilt and concern. Kitty smiled at him.

"The one about shooting yourself if we accidentally had a kid and it wound up being a cat. I know you weren't seriou-"

"That wasn't a joke." Takado interrupted her, catching her completely off guard.

"W-what?" She stuttered slightly, trying to convince herself she'd heard him wrong.

"Maybe I wouldn't go to that extreme, but there's no way I'd accept fathering a cat." Takado explained, not thinking too much of it. Kitty lifted herself off of his lap, sitting on the edge of the bed as she turned to face him.

"Ok so what you're saying is that if we accidentally had a child and it wound up being a cat, you'd what, walk out on me?" Kitty questioned him angrily.

"Of course not. I'd never abandon you. We could just give the thing up for adoption," Takado stated simply, getting upset with Kitty for even thinking he'd leave her.

"Excuse you?"

"Well obviously and abortion would be preferable, but there's no way to tell which animal characteristics the child has taken on until after it's born unfortunately."

"Are you kidding me?! That's barbaric!" Kitty snarled as she stood from the bed and he stood with her.
"You can't just pick and choose and get rid of the kids you deem unworthy of yourself! That's disgusting!"

"What are you getting so upset about? I thought we agreed on no kids anyways?"

"Yeah, but it upsets me to know that if that ever changed for some reason that I'm not good enough! What I am isn't good enough in your eyes!"

"I never said that."

"You might as fucking well! If it's a coyote like you that's perfectly fine, but if it's a cat like me we have to get rid of it? That's not fair! I thought you were over your blind hatred of cats!"

"Life isn't fucking fair Kitty! You've always known I hate cats. You are the only exception to that, you will always be the one and only exception, so why are you acting so upset like this is a surprise?" Takado snarled at her, his patience finally leaving him.

"Because it fucking hurts to hear you say that crap Takado! Do you think it feels good to hear you speak so poorly of what I am?
Even if I'm the exception to you it feels like to a degree you hate me too because like it or not I'm one of them!" Kitty hissed at him, she could feel the tears begin to well in her eyes.

"I just fucking told you that you're the exception! Why does it fucking matter so much that I hate other cats?"

"... If there was a clone of me. Exactly identical in every way. Same face, body, personality, except she was a canine... Would you still want me?"

Takado froze as the question left her lips. Would he still want her? He couldn't answer, didn't know how to answer. So instead he turned around, ready to leave.

"Takado. Answer my question."

He couldn't handle being put on the spot.

"Takado."

He had to go before he said something stupid.

"Answer me!"

"I don't know." He growled lowly. It was the wrong answer. He knew it was the wrong answer, but it was the honest one. He didn't know.

He looked over at her, the sight of her made him ache, guilt hitting him like a tidal wave. It pained him to see her petite form standing there, shivering, her eyes red from holding back tears that would inevitably fall.

"Look I'm sorry Kitty, but this is something that was bred into me ever since I was a child. It's not exactly easy to just drop what my father taught me everyday of my life." Takado sighed, glancing down at the ground before shifting his gaze back on her.
"Look I'm going to go stay in my room tonight. We can talk again in the morning ok Kitty? I think we both just need some sleep."

Takado took a step toward her going in to kiss her before he left, but he stopped himself when she took a step back away from him.

"For someone who claims to despise his father so much, you would think you'd try harder to be less like him."

Takado froze in place. His muscles grew tense, his throat constricting blocking the air from getting to his lungs.

"Takado! go! Run!"

Takado stood motionless, shaking where he stood, unable to process his emotions, her words hit him harder than he thought possible.

And then his emotions turned into a blinding rage.He turned to face her, poised to strike, ready to aim for her throat. Ready to end her for speaking to him that way.
But as his eyes traveled to his intended target they were caught on her sapphire eyes, wide and filled with fear... of him.

The small glimpse of her eyes was enough to steer him away from her, ever so slightly. Instead he turned his rage on the wall he stood by, almost completely decimating it.
Takado walked up to her.
His face centimeters from her own, snarling like the wild dog that he was.

"We're done, Katherine." He growled, his rage barely kept in check as he got in her face.
"Whatever the fuck this was between us, it's over and done with."

Takado turned on his heel and stormed out of her room, leaving Kitty alone speechless and quivering as she held back her tears.
...

Takado groaned as the club's repetitive music assaulted his eardrums. He took another swig of his drink, glad that he'd gotten his sister to drive him. Kitty would be worried if he tried to drive with how much he'd been drinking.

His body tensed at the thought, shaking his head vigorously.

Kitty? No. That piece of his life was over now.
He was free now.

He felt dizzy, the edges of his vision blurring, but it wasn't enough. He made his way to the bar, grabbing a bottle and walking away.
One drink at a time wasn't enough.

"Seriously Brother? Another one?" His sister's voice reaching him past the music that had begun to give him a headache.

"What the fuck do you want Carissa?" Takado growled under his breath, his speech slurring slightly.

"How much damn alcohol have you had?" Spikes questioned him, reaching out to take the bottle from his hand.
Takado took a step back from her, protectively grabbing the bottle.

"Takado I know we can handle more alcohol than the average human, but you must have had a lot if your speech is actually slurring.
You need to stop."

Takado rolled his eyes as he moved to walk away from his sister.
"Doesn't matter how much I've had because I can do whatever I want now."

Spikes rolled her eyes, assuming Takado would eventually figure his own crap out.
"Seriously? That is the way you want to go with this?"

"Oh, Carissa do you have any smokes on you?" Takado asked turning around to face his sister. He ignored anything she said prior and met instantly with her glare.

"You haven't smoked at all since you came back and you're mistaken if you think I'm gonna be okay with letting you get back into that filthy habit," Spikes growled at her brother.

"Relax Carissa. It's not a big fucking deal."

"No, it is a big fucking deal Takado! I've tried to stay quiet this whole time because I know break ups can be rough but you're losing your damn mind!
You're not even able to be honest with yourself about how you feel about this!" Spikes screamed at him, finally sick of putting up with his self pity.

"Tough on me? Obviously you aren't paying attention or are blind! I'm doing great! I feel better than I have in months! I'm free now and you know what? It feels amazing!" Takado smiled as he shouted.

Spikes knew better though, she saw the way the light of of his smile didn't reach his eyes. Saw how weary and tired he looked despite trying to convince himself and the world otherwise.

Spikes sighed, shaking her head as she turned to walk away from her brother.

"Just keep lying to yourself, Takado. I'm sure that'll fix everything." Spikes spat at her brother, leaving him in his misery.

Takado scoffed, walking in the opposite direction his sister had gone in. What did Carissa know?
He was better than ever without Kitty.
He was free now.
...

Kitty sighed heavily as she made her way into The Den's lounge area. She didn't want to be here. She wanted to go home.
She tugged at the edges of her mini-skirt trying to make it cover more.

Her eyes scanned the room briefly, hoping to find Takado. She could feel tears well in her eyes when she didn't see him.

She was ready to give up, to go home, when a patch of Raven hair caught her attention. She looked over, eyes wide as she caught site of the man's profile.
He looked just like-

Kitty ran. It didn't matter that she was in heels, that she had to get through crowds of people.
She needed to see him.

He jumped, eyes wide as Kitty'd hand latched onto his arm. He stared at her for a moment, staring up at him.
"Can I help you?"

"I'm sorry!" Kitty squeaked, quickly letting go of his arm and taking a step back.
"I'm so sorry, you looked like someone else for a second."

"Hey don't worry about it." Vincent smiled gently, reaching out and stroking her arm.
"Are you alright though? You seem frazzled."

"Yeah I just... My ex is here and I... have no idea what I'm doing." Kitty chuckled, tucking her hair behind her ear.
"Then I came over and grabbed you and made a complete idiot of myself."

"I don't think you're an idiot." Vincent chuckled.
"You seem sweet."

Kitty smiled at him before her blood went ice cold. She'd seen Takado step into the lounge from the corner of his eye.
His voice made her furious.

"Is that your ex?" Vincent asked, and she nodded, quickly, briefly. Vincent chuckled, glancing between the two.
"Do you want to go pretend to dance with with me?"

"Pretend?" Kitty asked, raising an eyebrow at him.

"Well you don't seem like the clubs type." Vincent shrugged his shoulders.
"And it's make you ex extremely jealous. I'm Vincent by the way."

Kitty paused, glancing at the hand he'd offered her. She wasn't sure this was a good idea. And then she saw him talking to another woman, and she place her hand in Vincent's.

"My name's Marie."
...

Takado grumbled to himself as he made his way upstairs to the lounge. The music of the very active, lively downstairs had finally begun to drive him completely insane.

His annoyance only grew when a reasonably tall slender woman ran into him. Her face quickly changed from bewilderment to flirtatious as she looked up at him.

"Hey there hot stuff. You wanna go downstairs and dance?" He barely heard her, as he scanned the room. He couldn't see very well though.

"Hello?" The woman's annoying voice once again tried to get his attention.

He looked down at her, she was considerably taller than he was used to, but her rose colored eyes did nothing for him.

"You should really smile when a pretty girl decides to talk to you," She yammered on, finally getting on his last nerve.

"I'll remember that if I see one," Takado retorted just as his eyes met her. It was brief, only a second, but it felt like an eternity to him as he stared at her.
Why was she here?

A smile began to unconsciously make it's way across his lips as he began to step towards her, completely disregarding the angry woman before him.

He may even have started running to her if not for him noticing who she was talking to.
There was a man with her. He could feel a snarl rising in the back of his throat as he took a step back.
What was she doing here with him?

He flinched at the sound of her laughter, watching her take the man's hand and walk towards him.

"What the hell are you doing with him?" Takado growled as he stepped in Kitty's path. His hand briefly grabbing her arm.

"I'm going dancing with him," Kitty smirked as she side stepped Takado.

"You don't even know him Kitty. What if he tried to hurt you?"

"Don't you think it's a little late to care about that?" Kitty hissed at him, causing him to flinch from her. Kitty pushed him out of her way to pass him.
"I know him well enough. I know his name, I know he's a cat like me, and that's really all I need. For now.
Maybe I'll need to know where he lives later."

Takado's fists clenched at his sides. She watched him, the glass bottle in his hand forming a small crack from the strength of his grip.

"You were right after all Takado." He words were quiet, soft. He looked into her eyes, taking a step towards her.
"We're better off with out own kind."
